Adventure Day Tradition Continues in 2017

Nine East Network will proudly sponsor Adventure Day 2017 at Lotus Lake Camp.

In 2016, Nine East Network happily revived the VCDHH’s tradition of Adventure Day for Vermont’s deaf and hard of hearing children.  Thirty one children were able to attend the event from all corners of the state.

This year, Adventure Day will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017.

Once again, we will provide transportation, interpreters, and a barbecue lunch at the beautiful Lotus Lake Camp in Williamstown, Vermont.  We also invite graduates and older students to join in the event and act as mentors.

Adventure Day gives these students a special day to get together and connect using either sign or spoken language, or a combination of the two.

Lotus Lake Camp Staff lead them through various activities, such as a ropes course, shelter building, and other outdoor activities.

For many students, this is a fairly rare opportunity to spend time with other kids who wear hearing aids, cochlear implants, and/or use sign language.

Parents and Nine East Network staff enjoy attending Adventure Day as well. It is a delight to see the students make connections and build friendships at this fun, outdoor event.

We hope to be able to hold this event for years to come.
