Citizenship and Community Participation: A Restorative Justice Skill-Building Curriculum

This is a Restorative Justice curriculum designed to teach concepts and skills needed to improve offenders’ ability to function successfully in society. The curriculum was prepared for the Department of Corrections for use in Community High School of Vermont. The module-based curriculum addresses citizenship, problem-solving and decision-making, conflict resolution, community relationships, and reciprocity. The curriculum is compatible with the Vermont Framework of Standards and Learning Opportunities. Teacher materials, lesson plans, and other support materials are strength based and designed to accommodate a wide array of learning and teaching styles.
